After delivery, additional equipment was mounted, all personnel were trained and the rescue engine was placed into service on September 3, 2009. We would like to thank the citizens and all personnel for continuing the process of providing the best service. Please visit the Apparatus section of the Gallery for more information and images.

The mannequin will be used to aid in realistic training for firefighters. These mannequins are lifelike and designed for training in extrication, confined spaces, collapsed buildings, smoke rooms, etc. and can safely be used in situations too hazardous or uncomfortable for human volunteers. We would like to thank Wal-Mart for continuing their support of the District.

January 21, 2009 - The District was awarded a $56,000 grant through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. The grant was applied for in April 2008 to help with safety, operations and equipment. The Board of Directors approved the acceptance of the grant at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2009.

September 5, 2008 - Lockton Companies, LLC and Fireman's Fund Insurance Company awarded a $6,500 grant to the Fire District for the purchase of forcible entry training equipment. August 31, 2008 - "Fill the Boot" raises over $28,000. Local 3987 firefighters once again participated in the annual fundraiser to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association. August 11, 2008 - The District was awarded a $1,000 grant through Wal-Mart's Community Grant Program. The Community Involvement Coordinator from Wal-Mart Store #815 presented the check to assist with purchasing reflective safety vests that are required under a new law passed by the Federal Highway Administration. According to federal statistics, numerous emergency workers have been injured or killed while working at roadway incidents. The reflective safety vests should help identify the emergency workers to approaching motorists, reducing the chance for further accidents.
